This is a free upgrade to the CD-ROM based version of "2K5" for the MacOS. It features a number of enhancements to network play. Specifically, the following new features have been added:
• After a network game has been played, players return to the "chat" screen rather than the main screen, so that they can more quickly replay a match or just chat some more
• A new "Optimize for Modem Play" option is available for network games, which should be used if you are playing over 56k or slower modems. To use this, just check the box when you host a game. You should experience slightly better performance using this option, however response will still be nowhere near as good as if you are playing on an LocalTalk, Ethernet or other high-speed network.
Do not check this option if you are not playing over a modem - it will actually decrease performance in that case.
Installation Instructions
To upgrade, simply replace your existing "2K5" application with the new one. Note that if you are playing the "Small Install" version of the game then this upgrade does not apply to you, since network is not available for the Small Install version anyway. Only install this upgrade if you are using the "Large Install" version of the game.
